    Born in Somerville, Massachusetts Dolliver served in the US Army National Guard in the Mexican Border War then enlisted 7 August 1917 in the 236th (The New Brunswick Kilties-Sir Sam’s Own) Battalion, CEF (Canadian Expeditionary Forces).
